This month I wanted to continue our homeschool learning and actually sit down and create a plan or curriculum. I am doing a combination of homeschooling and unschooling. I want to have a structured day, but also a “go with the flow” kind of day. My kids are young so that is why I feel like I can be a little relaxed when starting school at home. I recently learned about unschooling and love the idea of that. I know every child is different and what works for one of my kids may not work for the other. That is how I came up with this system of trying both.
First, by breaking the month down to each week, I could decide what the theme is for that week. During that week, we will focus on five objectives for each day, which are:
- Gross motor
- Fine motor
These are the main areas for development and learning. The day we focus on fine motor, for example, we would most likely practice cutting with scissors or stringing jewels on a string to make a necklace. Each of these learning areas, gives you a lot of ways to use in daily life and its up to us as parents to make it fun to learn! Other areas, if you choose to use, are:
- Practical Life
- Exercise or sports
- Cooking or home making
These are just an added bonus and do not take much time, but something I believe is important also. Now without making this too long, lets get into this months Lesson Plan!

Please let me know what you think or what I should add, since I am new to this homeschool way of life and I am learning along with them. I would love to hear from you about what you do and how you teach your kids. Thanks for reading and feel free to share away!
